Lyne Down builds on success

The team at Lyne Down cider in Much Marcle, Herefordshire are literally building on their recent successes - and have been backed with an important grant that will help them develop further.

‘Our passion for producing quality cider using traditional methods is being increasingly appreciated by a growing number of consumers which has encouraged us to improve our facilities both in the short term and looking farther out,’
said Mark Catlin.

The new Cider barn

The latest development has seen a new cider barn created in one of the orchards which is being used for production and storage with a small area set aside for shop sales.
‘We have also laid the foundations for a second phase which will be a permanent shop area and provide indoor space for light refreshments for the public,’ said Mark. ‘We will also be hoping to utilise this area for meetings etc.’

And there was especially good news for the company when they were awarded funding from the Rural Development Agency that will provide them with 40% towards equipment and other works to the cider barn. Signage has now also been improved, which will enable the public to locate them more easily.
